Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop hiring just 4 people. Total sales for that initial year amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Within five years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is among the top global makers in the material handling trade.
Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business opportunities. Over the last sixty years, the material handling business has grown into a highly sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this development. Cascade presently continues to grow as the leader provider of forklift attachments and numerous associated products. During the nineteen fifties, Cascade started to make, design, and sell its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was built in 1956, to be able to accommodate all the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current head office.
